What is the Wall of Fame?
At The Tutoring Center, we believe that character building and strong work habits are an important part of our programs and are an essential part of the development of successful children.  We begin each session at the Wall of Fame where the Center Director leads a discussion with the students. The discussion stems from motivational and character-building posters that are changed out each week.  At The Tutoring Center in Birmingham, we try to put posters together that have a common theme.

This week's Wall of Fame theme is Diversity and Respect
Different
Individuals
Valuing Each other Regardless of
Skin
Intellect
Talents or Years.

Respect:
 1) Treating others the way you want to be treated
 2) Showing kindness and consideration
 3) Liking yourself enough to be yourself
 4) Accepting others for who they are

Call to ActionThe seeds of respect are planted when children are young. It’s important to teach them simple things like saying “Please” or “Thank You” at an early age. You also have to be aware of the behaviors you display when dealing with tolerance and diversity. If you display positive examples they will more than likely have these values as they grow and mature. For more information on teaching your children tolerance and respect, read this article in Kid’s Health
